Discover Liguria, one of Italy's smallest yet most picturesque regions. It is home to the Cinque Terre, a group of five charming villages nested on a coast where steep cliffs and hills drop precipitously into the Mediterranean. Visit this charming area in the most comfortable way!

Day 1: Milan | Genova

Departing from Starhotel Ritz in Milan at 8:30 am, the tour begins by heading for Genova, one of the largest seaports in southern Europe. As the first port in all of Italy, Genova has an important history as a Maritime Republic, its historical centre concentrated around the dock area and full of narrow and characteristic street of Medieval origin. Visit the modern zone of “Ancient Port”, restored for the 500-year anniversary of America's discovery by Christopher Columbus and now home to Genova's Aquarium, the second biggest in Europe. Free time for lunch. After checking into the hotel, the evening is free to pass as you chose. 

Day 2:Rapallo | Santa Margherita | Portofino

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before departing for Rapallo, a famous tourist centre to visit the old town where a long promenade ends with the beautiful castle of Dragut. Then, the road to Santa Margherita, the beautiful seaside city of Riviera di Levante (Eastern Riviera), located in the Tigullio Gulf. Lunch will be on your own then in the afternoon, visit Portofino. Built around a little square, you can have a nice view of a group of high, coloured and picturesque houses. In the small port, during the high season, you can see expensive yachts from every part of the world. Finally, return to Genoa with a panoramic road. before returning to Genoa by way of a drive along the Riviera di Ponente, passing through the many characteristic villages and an evening to pass as you choose. Day 3: Portovenere & Cinque Terre

This morning after breakfast the tour heads to Portovenere. Perched on Italy's northwest coast at the end of La Spezia Gulf, Portovenere is one of the most photogenic fishing ports in the Mediterranean. Enjoy a tour of this village and then, weather permitting, board the ferry that will take you to the famous Cinque Terre. If the weather does not permit travelling by ferry the tour will continue with a panoramic tour in a minibus. The Cinque Terre, recognized as a National Park in 1999 and a UNESCO protected territory since 1997, is characterized by precipitous slopes cultivated into vineyards, winding paths and enchanting small beaches between cliffs making this area an authentic natural "opera of art". The 5 fishermen villages display a unique group with their medieval style of buildings. There will be free time for lunch before returning to Genoa. (B)

Day 4: Genoa | Laigueglia | Finalborgo | Milan

Following breakfast at the hotel, departure to the Western coast of Liguria and heading to Laigueglia, a picturesque and little village of fishermen with its nice corners and small beaches. Visit. Later, departure to Finalborgo, a typically medieval village at the bottom of the mountains where the Alps meets the Apennines. Lunch is on your own before returning to Milan in the afternoon. An optional private transfer to the airport is available or ask your travel agent about extending your vacation with CIT Tours (B).
