Day 1: Rome

Upon your arrival at Rome Airport, you will find your private driver waiting for you in the arrivals area and ready to bring you comfortably to your hotel in Rome after checking in the remainder of the day is yours to relax or explore Rome on your own.

Day 2: Rome - Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill

Today you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some time to explore Rome on your own before an afternoon guided tour of Imperial Rome. The Romans built an empire of truly gigantic proportions. The testimony of its greatness is still visible in the places where the city was built, more than 2772 years ago, by the legendary twin brothers Romulus and Remus. To see it with your own eyes, join us and our professional guide on this 3-hour tour: we’ll provide you with a pocket radio receiver and earphones, and let you access the Colosseum by skipping the long line. You’ll walk inside the Flavian Amphitheater seeing the places where the Ancient Romans used to watch a variety of events, such as gladiatorial shows or staged animal hunts, and you’ll learn more about the way Romans used to enjoy their leisure time. You’ll stroll around Palatine Hill, the place where Rome was founded and where Roman emperors used to live: the view is spectacular from here, so get your camera ready for some perfect shots from above! You’ll also reach the Roman Forum, the pulsating heart of ancient Roman life, to see some very well-preserved ruins of that time: let the tour guide take you back in time and try to imagine what it was like to be a Roman citizen. Unforgettable!  The tour ends inside the Roman Forum and you can decide to remain inside the Forum and then make your own way back to your hotel at your own pace. Day 3: Rome | Sorrento

After an early morning departure from Rome, you'll experience some of Italy’s most breathtaking coastal towns during this unforgettable 3-day journey to Sorrento, Capri & Pompeii. Your adventure begins with a scenic transfer from Rome to Sorrento. As we travel, marvel at the stunning landscapes of the Italian countryside and the breathtaking views along the Coast, where crystal-clear waters meet hills dotted with citrus groves and charming villages. Arriving in Sorrento, the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, you'll be enchanted by its vibrant streets, artisanal ceramic workshops, and historic churches. After checking in at your hotel, enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. For those seeking more adventure, consider joining an optional tour to explore the spectacular Amalfi Coast. In the evening, savour a delicious dinner at the hotel (smart-casual attire required), followed by an overnight stay in Sorrento. (D)

Day 4: Sorrento | Capri | Sorrento

Following breakfast, you'll depart by boat to the island of Capri. Depending on weather conditions, you’ll take a boat ride to the popular and dreamy “Grotta Azzurra” (Blue Grotto), where the sunlight passes through an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater, creating a magical blue reflection. You'll then board a minibus for a scenic drive to Anacapri, 918 feet (280 meters) above sea level where you will be amazed by the wonderful views of the Bay of Naples. There will be free time for lunch on your own and to explore Capri at your leisure or go shopping before returning to Marina Grande where you will board the boat back to Sorrento. Dinner tonight will be served at your hotel. (B.D)

Day 5: Sorrento | Pompeii | Rome

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then some free time to soak in Sorrento's charm one last time. Around 1:15 pm, we begin the final leg of our journey. Accompanied by our expert tour leader, we head to Pompeii, where a professional local guide will take you on an extraordinary walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the remarkably preserved ruins of this ancient Roman city, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You’ll learn how people lived at that time, visiting homes, shops, and bakeries that bring the past to life. Admire the frescoes, squares, and temples to imagine how rich and prosperous the city was before that fateful day. Skip-the-line access, personal earphones, and a radio receiver ensure you won’t miss a single fascinating detail as your guide brings history to life. At the end of the tour, we'll depart for our return journey to Rome, filled with memories of an unforgettable Italian adventure. Day 6: Rome

Today marks the end of your Rome & Sorrento tour. At a time to suit your departing flight, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to Rome airport for your return flight. Or, ask your travel agent about extending your vacation with CIT Tours. (B)
