In Barcelona, history and traditions go hand in hand with emerging fashion and new trends in cuisine, culture, and art, and this morning you will discover the highlights of this fascinating city. Accompanied by our guide, enjoy a walking tour of the Born neighbourhood and the Gothic Quarter, then stroll down one of the city's most important streets to reach the Cathedral of Barcelona where you'll have some free time to visit on your own. Continue the walking tour through the narrow streets of Barcelona's oldest part and discover the many secrets it holds. Marvel at the quaint medieval places, hidden from the crowds, and learn about their huge historical significance. Follow your guide through the streets of the Born neighbourhood and past Santa Maria del Mar church. You'll then board an air-conditioned coach for a panoramic tour through the city. Driving along the coastline, passing by the Olympic Port, the beach, and the fisherman’s quarter called Barceloneta, admire the intense changes the city underwent with the organization of the Olympic Games in 1992. Next, we then head up to Montjuïc Mountain, the main site of the Olympic Games in 1992, to enjoy the amazing views over the city during a cable car ride. Our final stop is at the MNAC viewpoint offering one of the most spectacular panoramic views of Barcelona before proceeding along Passeig de Gracia passing by some of the most emblematic Gaudi buildings such as Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 3: Barcelona | Sagrada Familia & Best of Gaudi

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and a morning at leisure before this afternoon's tour to discover the legacy of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. Gaudi, one of the greatest innovators of his time, has left behind numerous treasures in Barcelona for the discerning tourist to discover. The Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited buildings in the world. We will visit the astonishing interior of this church, where vaults go up to seventy meters. Antoni Gaudí designed a Latin cross plan with five aisles, extremely rich in ornamentation and symbolism. Learn about the history and significance of Sagrada Familia, and marvel at the astonishing interior. Walk freely around the nave whilst listening to your guide’s explanations of Gaudí’s masterpiece on your headsets and take in all the details of the perfect fusion between architecture and spirituality. Tour the outside façades and wonder at the magnificence of details before boarding an air-conditioned coach for a short trip to Park Güell, located in the upper part of the city. Here you'll enjoy a guided tour of the park and discover why it is one of the most emblematic works by Gaudí. Wonder at the magnificent skills of Gaudí and its organic style displayed all over the park. It is easy to get lost in the whimsical design of this eccentric but compelling public park with perfect integration of the architectural elements in nature. Get back on the bus for a short ride to Paseo de Gracia. Accompanied by your guide, take a walking tour along this important street in Barcelona to admire Gaudí's famous apartment buildings of La Pedrera and Casa Batló, where the tour ends. Make your way back to your hotel or perhaps enjoy an evening out discovering Barcelona's vibrant gastronomic scene. (B)
