Day 1 Rome

On arrival in Rome make your way to the selected hotel. An optional transfer can be booked on request. After checking in, take some time to relax and then set out again to start exploring Rome on your own. 

Day 2 Rome | Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill Tour

Enjoy breakfast at then get ready to enter into the legend! Jump into Roman history and discover with an expert guide & Skip-the-Line admission. The Ancient Romans didn’t like to stay in bed in the morning. They were suspicious of those who opted for a lie-in and typically woke up at sunrise or earlier, then headed to the Forum and got to do business. If you’re an early bird like them, come and join us on this tour of Rome’s archaeological area: accompanied by a professional guide who’ll provide you with a pocket audio receiver & earphones and, with your priority entrance, you’ll have the chance to access the Colosseum skipping the usually long line. The Flavian Amphitheater stood the test of time and stayed pretty much intact: you’ll get to know more about the way Romans used to enjoy their leisure hours while walking inside the original places where they used to watch gladiatorial or animal fights. You’ll reach the Palatine Hill, the place where Rome was founded more than  2772 years ago by the legendary twin brothers Romulus and Remus and you’ll stroll around the Roman Forum, the pulsating heart of ancient Roman life: let your guide tell you everything about those days and take you on a  travel through time. Unforgettable! The tour ends after approximately 3 hours in the Archaeological area. The remainder of the day is as leisure. (B) 

Day 3 Rome | Campo Dei Fiori, Jewish Ghetto, Trastevere Food Tour

This morning indulge in an authentic experience led by a local expert food connoisseur, who will take you through a number of Rome neighbourhoods to visit the most famous food markets, groceries, coffee shops, gelaterias, and restaurants in town. Learn everything about Roman food style, how to orientate yourself among the huge offer of restaurants without fall into a touristic one. Taste some of the delicious food and wines for which the city is famous, including mozzarella di bufala, salami, pizza, mortadella, gelato, supplì, pasta. From fried codfish in the Jewish ghetto to spices and vegetables in Campo de’ Fiori, ignite your senses and burn some calories all while you enjoy walking amongst the beauty around you. The personalized commentary from your foodie guide will include an overview of Italian culinary habits, a description of any seasonal events taking place at the time of your tour, and an introduction to selected specialties found in the main shops. Learn how to order food in Rome and where to find the best food in town. Follow your nose and let your stomach lead the way through Rome on this delicious gastronomic journey. This small-group tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours and the remainder of the day is yours to pass as you choose. Consider a leisurely walk down famous Via Condotti, Rome's main location for haute couture and "aspirational" window shopping. Or make your way to the Trevi Fountain where be sure to Three Coins to be sure that this is not your last visit to the Eternal City! (B) 

Day 4 Rome

Today marks the end of your Emperor Tour. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and check-out. Or ask your Travel Agent about extending your Italy vacation with CIT Tours. (B)
