This morning enjoy a guided tour of the "Cradle of the Renaissance" - Florence. Drive along the romantic Viale dei Colli up to Piazzale Michelangelo: a stop to admire the wonderful panorama of the city, one of the most beautiful in the world. The tour will proceed by coach through the old city centre. Then walking guided visit of the outdoor Duomo complex: the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso and the visit of the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi and Giotto's bell tower. A short walk through the historic streets of the heart of Florence brings you to the renowned Galleria dell'Accademia* where, with pre-booked, skip-the-line-tickets, you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist. Today you will experience an unforgettable day discovering the most impressive Ligurian landscapes. Explore the breathtaking Ligurian coast on a tour of Portovenere and the Cinque Terre, a small corner of paradise subdivided into five villages suspended on steep cliffs overlooking the sea; a unique landscape, where vegetation and lush vineyards frame a spectacular scenery. Visit three of the five villages. You will spend an unforgettable day discovering the most impressive Ligurian landscapes. In this area, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, earth and sea blend and create a unique landscape. The area consists of kilometres of rocky coasts with caves, beaches, hiking paths and breathtaking views. You will first visit Manarola, a tiny urban jewel characterized by Genoese style ‘case-torri’. Then you will move to Vernazza, overlooked by the remains of a Medieval castle with a cylindrical tower and finally, you will reach Monterosso, known as the ‘Pearl of Cinque Terre’. This ancient fishing village with lovely beaches and lush vegetation covering the rocks will certainly enchant you. Here you can enjoy a typical Ligurian lunch (optional). You’ll then taste the typical “Limoncino Ligure” made with fresh lemons from Monterosso and enjoy some time to walk around the village or swim in Monterosso's crystalline waters. Next enjoy a 1-hour boat crossing to Portovenere, and admire unique views and the villages from a seaside perspective, a perfect photo opportunity! Once in Portovenere, you have free time to visit this elegant and popular touristic destination where nature and human architecture are perfectly balanced. Finally, take another boat to reach the city of La Spezia where the bus will be waiting for the return drive to Florence, with a planned return time of around 8:45 pm. (B)

This morning an experienced guide will escort you through the millennium of life of the Serenissima Republic. Your tour starts with a historical introduction of St. Marks’s Square, and its architectural delights, allowing you to discover the history of the majestic St. Mark’s Basilica, the illustrious Doge’s Palace, once the seat of the power of the Republic of Venice, and the extraordinary, renaissance clock tower. Leaving the square, you will be guided into the residential Castello area, allowing you to discover this part of Venice in all of its elegance, through its labyrinth of narrow alleys - “calli”, many bridges, winding canals and wide picturesque squares - “campi”. You can expect to discover the Santa Maria Formosa Square, one of the largest squares in Venice with its church, named after its visitation of the Holy Virgin; the Saints Giovanni and Paolo Square where you will be able to admire the famous church, the resting place of several Doges; and the equestrian monument of Bartolomeo Colleoni, an Italian mercenary Captain. The former residence of Marco Polo, probably the most famous Venetian merchant, and the Malibran theatre are also part of the itinerary. Once inside the Palace, you will visit the halls where the Duke (Doge) and his Council controlled the fate of the Serene Republic, whilst surrounded by hundreds of artistic masterpieces and discover the political history of Venice and its people. You will be able to admire the paintings realised by some of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance, amongst them, the world's largest oil painting by Tintoretto. Passing through the famous Bridge of Sighs, you will reach the new prisons before the tour concludes in the courtyard of the Doge's Palace. The afternoon is at leisure to spend as you please. (B)
