Traveling onboard the Glacier Express, Switzerland's most famous panoramic train, journey through the country's stunning alpine region. Discover the renowned mountain resort towns of St. Moritz and Zermatt, and take in the spectacular vistas from the 'top of Europe' at Jungfraujoch. This 5-day rail tour will be sure to take your breath away!

Day 1: Zurich | St. Moritz

This morning will bring you from your Zurich hotel or the airport to Zurich railway station to begin your Switzerland by Glacier express tour. The first leg of the rail journey will take you to Chur where you'll transfer onto the famous red train to St. Moritz, travelling through the spectacular Albula gorge. Arriving in St. Moritz, make your way to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day exploring this chic resort town at your leisure. 
Overnight accommodation in St. Moritz:  3* Hotel Soldanella, Hotel Hauser  (or similar);  4* Hotel Stefani, Hotel Art Boutique Monopol  (or similar)

Day 2: St. Moritz | Zermatt

After breakfast, it is time to board the famous Glacier Express. Comfortably seated in your panorama car, relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Swiss Alps, dense forests, snow-capped peaks, spectacular waterfalls, mountains, and historic villages. In the late afternoon, you'll arrive in Zermatt, the charming mountain resort at the foot of Mount Matterhorn. (B)

Day 3: Zermatt | Interlaken

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and the morning at leisure to explore Zermatt as you please, before boarding an afternoon train to the city of Interlaken. Set between the emerald-colored waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, the lively city of Interlaken is the perfect perfect starting point to explore the nearby mountains and famous peaks including the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau. After checking into your hotel, the remainder of the day is free to explore Interlaken at your leisure. (B)

Day 4: Interlaken | Jungfraujoch | Interlaken

Today you journey to the top of Europe! A cogwheel train will take you up to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest train station at an elevation of 3,444 m. A year-round winter wonderland of snow & ice and spectacular Alpine views await visitors for an unforgettable experience. You'll be amazed by the breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier and the Bernese Oberland. Return to Interlaken and enjoy the rest of the day as you please. (B)

Day 5 : Interlaken | Zurich

The morning is free to spend at your leisure. Then make your way to the railway station where around noon you'll board the Brünig Express train to Lucerne, a panoramic route that takes you along three gorgeous lakes. In Lucerne, transfer to the final train of your journey that will take you back to Zurich where your 5-day rail tour ends. Or ask about extending your Swiss vacation with a city stay in Zurich. (B)
