Welcome to Lisbon! Upon arrival at Lisbon airport, make your way to your centrally located hotel and the remainder of the day is free to start exploring the Portuguese capital on your own and perhaps try a few typical Portuguese dishes for dinner at one of the many traditional restaurants in town. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and the morning at leisure to spend as you chose, perhaps visiting historic sites such as Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries or St. George Castle and riding the iconic Gloria funicular. This afternoon, a small group food walking tour through Mouraria, one of Lisbon's oldest districts, will take you off the beaten track to get a unique glimpse of the fascinating historical and ancient Lisbon. Leading you through this real neighbourhood, you will go further into the local history, the Fado song roots, the architecture and the city culture, while you discover hidden Portuguese food treasures. You will be introduced to spots that locals go every day, away from the crowded and touristy areas, sampling typical Portuguese foods at each of the seven tasting stops. (B)
A full day tour to Evora with Wine tasting is planned for today. With the richness of its history, architecture, gastronomy and colourful handicrafts, Evora is sure to appeal to all your senses. You'll tour Evora’s historic centre and admire the town’s main sights including the Roman Temple, the Cathedral and Bones Chapel, the university and the market. Enjoy a typical lunch in Evora before proceeding for a visit & wine tasting at a winery in Herdade do Esporão. Evening return to Lisbon. (B.L)
It is time to bid farewell to Lisbon. Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel and, at the appropriate time, make your way to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
