Arriving at Bari airport or railway station your private transfer will be waiting to whisk you to Alberobello and your Trullo. This traditional stone-built historical building will be your accommodation for the next four nights. Check-in and perhaps start exploring the local area.
Today you'll discover the iconic houses of Puglia on this half-day walking tour of Alberobello. View approximately 1,000 Trulli from Terrazzino Belvedere & learn the origins of these 15th-century homes. During your walking tour, you’ll visit the central area of Aia Piccola & see the famous Casa D’Amore, UNESCO World Heritage site & the first house built with mortar & cement. Visit the touristic area of Rione Monti with the "trullo" church of Sant’Antonio. During the tour, which lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, there will be tasting of typical products and free time to explore on your own. (B)
Today is free to pass as you choose. We suggest an option tour to one of the many historic or cultural sites of Puglia and nearby Basilicata with a visit to the World Heritage sites of Castel del Monte & Matera. (B)
Today you’ll enjoy a wonderful experience of culture & cuisine starting with a walking tour of the lovely town of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site well known for its picturesque houses with cone-shaped roofs, with a visit inside a Trullo. With your guide you’ll then tour the local countryside visiting some ‘masserie’ (local working farms) where you will enjoy a demonstration of cheese-making followed by lunch with the family of the masseria. This tour lasts approximately 4 ½ hours and includes travelling along rural routes with stops for picture taking. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or explore on your own. (B.L)
