Day 1: Rome

Upon arrival at Rome airport a private car transfer will take you to your hotel in Rome for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to pass as you choose exploring Rome or simply relaxing.

Day 2: Rome

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and a full day at leisure to explore Rome as you please. Take a walk through Rome’s historic streets & handsome squares, admiring its monuments & fountains and soaking up the local atmosphere as you go. Villa Borghese, the largest public park in Rome, offers a pleasant refuge from the often hectic city streets and is also well worth a visit. Or perhaps consider taking a tour into Rome’s countryside to visit the splendid historic villas of Villa Adriana & Villa D’ Este in Tivoli. (B)

Day 3: Rome | Naples | Pompeii | Sorrento

After an early morning departure from Rome, you'll see Southern Italy highlights on your minitour from Rome. Your journey begins heading south along the so-called Sun Highway, crossing the fertile Roman countryside and the area known as Castelli Romani, dotted with enchanting medieval villages. Arrive in Naples, one of the largest and well-known cities in Italy for a short panoramic tour climbing up to Vomero hill to enjoy beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples with the Vesuvius, Capri, Ischia and Procida and the city below; time to take some nice pictures. Descending towards the port of Mergellina, you will leave the city and travel south toward Mount Vesuvius, to reach the town of Ercolano where we will stop for lunch and you will enjoy some real Neapolitan pizza! After lunch, you will enter the world-famous archaeological site of Pompeii with “Skip the Line” tickets for a guided tour. Through the remains and ruins of this ancient city, you will learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the city, killing its inhabitants and burying it under tons of ash. The site was lost for about 1,500 years until its initial rediscovery and the objects beneath the city have been well-preserved for centuries. You’ll learn how people lived at that time, visiting houses and “bars” of the time, admiring frescoes and mosaics to imagine how rich and prosperous was the city before that fateful day. After the visit, continue along the Sorrentine Coast to Sorrento, where you will check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner (dressy casual attire is required) before resting up for the adventures ahead. (B.L.D)

Day 4: Sorrento

Today is yours to pass as you please in Sorrento. Spend a leisurely day exploring Sorrento, the jewel of the Sorrentine peninsula that is famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemon, and olive trees. Or you may want to hit the waters for a day excursion to the nearby island of Capri (not included). Return to your hotel in Sorrento for dinner and an overnight stay. (B.D)

Day 5: Sorrento | Amalfi

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Sorrento depart at 11:30 am for the beautiful coastal town of Amalfi. Check-in to your hotel then perhaps wander along to the main square in the town centre to admire St. Andrew Cathedral before returning to your hotel. (B)

Day 6: Amalfi

Take your time over breakfast and then enjoy a full day exploring the little alleys and hidden corners of this wonderful coastal resort of Amalfi. Take a dip into the waters of the Gulf of Salerno or some time to slowly sip on some of the locally produced Limoncello. The evening is yours to spend as you please. (B)

Day 7: Amalfi | Rome

The morning is yours to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and do some last-minute sightseeing in Amalfi. At around 3:00 in the afternoon, depart for Pompeii and continue on to Rome with an estimated arrival at 9:00 pm. Check into your Rome hotel an enjoy a well-deserved rest. (B)

Day 8: Rome

Enjoy breakfast and the remainder of your day until it is time for your private transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your return flight to Canada. (B)
