Independent Tour. Visit Naples & the historic Pompeii, and discover the beautiful Amalfi Coast during this 7-day tour. Includes 2 nights each in Rome, Sorrento and Capri.

Day : 1 Rome

On arrival at Rome Airport make your way to your hotel (an optional transfer is available). Check-in and remainder of the day free to relax or explore Rome on your own.

Day 2: Rome | Naples | Pompeii | Sorrento

After an early morning departure from Rome, you'll see Southern Italy highlights on your minitour from Rome. Your journey begins heading south along the so-called Sun Highway, crossing the fertile Roman countryside and the area known as Castelli Romani, dotted with enchanting medieval villages. Arrive in Naples, one of the largest and well-known cities in Italy for a short panoramic tour climbing up to Vomero hill to enjoy beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples with the Vesuvius, Capri, Ischia and Procida and the city below; time to take some nice pictures. Descending towards the port of Mergellina, you will leave the city and travel south toward Mount Vesuvius, to reach the town of Ercolano where we will stop for lunch when you can try some real Neopolitan pizza! After lunch, you will reach Pompeii to enter into the world-famous site with “Skip the Line” tickets. Visit the haunting ruins of Pompeii, travelling back in time to the tragic days in 79 AD when the silent Mount Vesuvius suddenly erupted, covering the prosperous Roman city in deadly volcanic ashes and poisonous gases, leaving this prosperous city crystallized until our days. You’ll learn how people lived at that time, visiting houses and “bars” of the time, admiring frescoes and mosaics to imagine how rich and prosperous was the city before that fateful day. After the visit, continue along the Sorrentine Coast, arriving in Sorrento in time for dinner and an overnight in your hotel. (B.L.D)

Day 3: Sorrento

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then spend a day at leisure exploring Sorrento, the jewel of the Sorrentine peninsula that is famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemon, and olive trees. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. (B.D)

Day 4: Sorrento | Capri

After breakfast, you’ll be embarked to Capri island. Depending on weather conditions, you’ll take a boat ride to the popular and dreamy “Grotta Azzurra” (Blue Grotto), where the sunlight passes through an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater, creating a magical blue reflection. After returning to the port you’ll board on a minibus for a scenic drive to Anacapri, 918 feet (280 meters) above the sea level. You’ll see wonderful views of the Bay of Naples before continuing to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you can take advantage of some free time to explore Capri at your leisure or to go shopping and, in the afternoon, you will check-in at your new hotel for a well-deserved rest. (B.L)

Day 5: Capri

Following breakfast at your hotel spend the day discovering the beauty of Capri at your own pace. Explore the many shops and restaurants of this wonderful island or take a swim in the Gulf of Naples. If the excursion to the Blue Grotta didn't work out the day before, you may choose to take the row boat excursion today. Return to your hotel for your last evening in Capri. (B)

Day 6: Capri | Naples | Rome

Spend a leisurely morning eating breakfast at your hotel and doing some last minute sight-seeing in Capri. Between 4:00 - 4:30 pm, board a ferry to Naples and then continue by deluxe motorcoach to Rome, with an estimated arrival at around 9:00 pm. Check-in at your selected Rome hotel for overnight accommodation. (B)

Day 7: Rome

Today marks the end of your tour. Following breakfast a your hotel make your way to the airport for your return flight to Canada (an optional transfer is available). Or ask your travel Agent about extending your vacation with CIT Tours. (B)

Daily departures

Tour departs daily from April 1 & October 30. Depending on weather conditions, overnight may have to be in Amalfi or Sorrento instead of Capri.
