Spend the day with an unforgettable excursion to Pompeii & Vesuvio. Drive along the Sorrento Coast and enjoy views of the Gulf of Naples on the way to Pompeii. Pompeii, the ancient Roman city destroyed tragically after the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in the year 79 B.C. In the morning your guide will lead you through the streets of Pompeii. Buried under thick volcanic ash, it has taken centuries to claw back from Mother Nature and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the richly decorated villas of the Roman nobility where you can still see frescoes on the walls, as well as public spaces such as the bath, forum, amphitheatre, and gladiator barracks. After the visit to the excavations, enjoy a light and tasty lunch before departing for Mount Vesuvius. Arriving at the crater of Mount Vesuvius, the architect of the destruction, reaching a height of 1000 meters. Here you can take an optional trip to the summit of the volcano to, weather permitting, take in the stunning views over the Bay of Naples before returning to Sorrento in the afternoon.  This tour lasts about 8 hours.
