This 9 km hike is the most scenic on the island of Santorini. Starting from the capital city of the island, Fira, your experienced English speaking guide will lead you to Oia walking through the villages of Firostefani and Imerovigli. The bigger part of the path is on the rim of the Caldera. Following this path gives a gorgeous view of the famous volcano and the Aegean Sea and also allows visitors to see the four most important villages of the island. The hike will take 2.5 to 3 hours (actual walking time), but the total time can reach 4 hours with some breaks in between to take pictures and enjoy some snacks & refreshments. No experience is necessary to do this hike but good health and a reasonable level of fitness are important (Activity level 3, moderate). It is ideal to leave Fira at about 8.00 am to arrive in Oia before midday.
