Day 1 Rome
Upon arrival at Rome Airport, make your way to your hotel which is located in the centre of Rome and ideal for exploring the many historic & artistic sites of the city on foot. After check-in, take some time to relax and then perhaps head out to begin your discovery of the ‘Eternal City’.
Day 2 Rome
This morning you will be picked up at your hotel to enjoy a city tour, which includes a visit to some of the best-known monuments of Rome. This tour is conducted by coach and on foot & you’ll visit the classic monuments of Rome. Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads, our local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, La Colonna di Marco Aurelio, the Palazzo di Montecitorio, designed by Bernini, the Pantheon (visit inside), Palazzo Madama - seat of the Senate and Piazza Navona. Passing alongside Castel Sant'Angelo, we get to St. Peter’s Square where there will be an explanation of the Basilica from outside. Your tour ends here and you have the remainder of today to pass as you choose. (B)
Day 3 Rome | Florence
Today travel by high-speed train with reserved seats from Rome to Florence. Your Florence hotel is easily reached on foot from the railway station and well located for exploring Florence at leisure. Check in at your selected hotel and the remainder of the day is yours to pass as you choose. (B)
Day 4 Florence
This morning enjoy a guided tour of the "Cradle of the Renaissance" - Florence. Start with a drive along the romantic Viale dei Colle up to Piazzale Michelangelo for a fantastic panoramic view of the city. Then a guided walking tour of the historic centre including a visit to the Duomo complex, Giotto's Belltower and the ancient Baptistery with its bronze door before finally arriving at the renowned Galleria Dell'Accademia* to admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other great works. The remainder of the day is yours to spend as you please. (B)
Day 5 Florence | Venice
Travel by high-speed train with reserved seats from Florence to Venice. After check-in at your selected hotel, the remainder of the day is free to shop or explore the many lanes, alleyways, canals & bridges that make up the city of Venice. (B)
Day 6 Venice
This morning's guided walking tour visits the most characteristic & important places for the history of Venice. A qualified and experienced guide will escort you through the millennium of life of the Serenissima Republic, recalling the past full of charm of this unique city. An essential tour for the understanding of Venice. You’ll learn about the history and hear anecdotes related to St. Marks Square, Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo - The "Pantheon" of Venice, the Great School of Charity, Marco Polo's House and the Malibran Theatre. Anecdotes and the past and recent history cross each other in this beautiful corner of Venice. Return to San Marco through the Mercerie, vital connection between Rialto Bridge and San Marco and the main street for the city shopping. The afternoon is yours to spend as you please. (B)
Day 7 Venice
Today marks the end of your tour. After breakfast, you may consider one of the many optional tours available through CIT Tours or travel to the airport for your return flight. (B)
