The itinerary was perfect, but the people who implemented & managed it were even better. Driver & guides were all professionals & worthy of saying thanks for a well done job. We saw & learned a lot. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for a job well done!

Day 1: Florence

Benvenuti in Italia!  Arriving at Florence Airport, your diver will be waiting to transfer you to your centrally located hotel. Check-in and enjoy the remainder of today to relax or start exploring Florence on your own.

Day 2: Florence

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Florence followed by a visit to the famous Accademia Gallery. Drive along the romantic Viale dei Colli up to Piazzale Michelangelo: a stop to admire the wonderful panorama of the city, one of the most beautiful in the world. The tour will proceed by coach through the old city centre. Then walking guided visit of the outdoor Duomo complex: the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso and the visit of the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi and Giotto's bell tower. A short walk through the historic streets of the heart of Florence brings you to the renowned Accademia Gallery where, with pre-booked, skip-the-line-tickets, you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist. The tour ends inside the museum and you'll free to linger and admire the works of art at your own pace.
This afternoon you'll enjoy some local Tuscan Tastes. Our Florence Wine Tasting offers a unique variety of Italian Wines specially selected by our Sommelier and matched by the most traditional foods of the Tuscan countryside and takes place in an authentic, traditional Enoteca located in the heart of Florence and led by the winner of the prestigious trophy "Best Sommelier 2014 FISAR". Enjoy some of the many delicious tastes of the Tuscany region: have you ever put some jam on the cheese? In Tuscany, we like to match the sweetness of the jam with the taste of the cheese, that could be Pecorino (sheep) or Caprino (goat) or Parmigiano (from cow milk). You’ll learn how to prepare a delicious dish of cheeses and cold-cuts in a quick and simple way!  Moreover, don't forget about our great extra virgin Olive oils! The olive tree's roots are inextricably entwined with the culinary history of the region and this fascinating tasting experience is a voyage of discovery through the palette of Tuscan olive oils. It’s incredible how the taste of the oil can change, depending on the soil, the climate, the exposure to the sun and, more important, the time of the olive harvest. The Tuscan olive oil is different from the others for the aggressive, herby and very strong flavour. Remember, don’t use the extra virgin olive oil for cooking, it’s a waste of a first-quality product! (B)

Day 3: Siena, San Gimignano & Chianti

Enjoy a full-day tour of Tuscany’s villages and wine regions from Florence and travel into the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Visit the town of San Gimignano, the wine territory of Chianti, the medieval town of Siena and the Monteriggioni fortress. The village of San Gimignano, the Chianti area and the Medieval town of Siena are situated in the heart of our beautiful Tuscany. They are all compelling stops for those who want to learn about the region’s history and traditions. The first stop will be San Gimignano, a magnificent example of a Medieval urban town; in fact, it is a UNESCO world heritage site. Here you will have free time to visit the village and its splendid squares, palaces, churches and the magnificent towers. The tour continues to the splendid area of the Chianti Classico. We will stop by a typical Tuscan winery where you will visit the cellars and vineyards. Afterwards, you will taste the wine produced, which will be accompanied by a delicious Tuscan lunch consisting of typical food such as pasta, cured meats, cheeses and local pastries. In the afternoon the tour continues with sightseeing in Siena. Here four official guides – an English one, a Spanish one, a French one and a Russian one - will lead our tour to the city centre. You will have the chance to admire the magnificent Cathedral and the Town Hall in the Piazza del Campo, the scenery of the world famous Palio horse race. The tour will end with the visit to the marvellous Monteriggioni medieval fortress, before returning to Florence. (B.L.D)

Day 4: Florence | Castellina in Chianti

Following breakfast, pick up your rental car and, at your own pace, make your way to Borgo di Petrafitta Relais Country resort in Castellina in Chianti. The remainder of today is free to spend as you chose. (B)

Day 5: Andrea Bocelli Summer Concert

This morning you can relax at the Borgo or perhaps visit the nearby Volterra with its beautiful town centre. Later in the day make your way to the small town of Lajatico, where at 8:15 pm you'll enjoy the amazing concert of Andrea Bocelli at the wonderful outdoor “Theatre of Silence” in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. The theatre hosts a single concert by Bocelli once in summer, while remaining silent the rest of the year (hence the name Teatro del Silenzio - Theatre of Silence). The stage, as well as the platforms for the audience, are completely dismantled during the time when they are not used and the theatre gets back to its natural silent state turning into an artificial lake. Certainly, the highlight of this vacation, Andrea Bocelli’s concert is an extraordinary experience to enjoy the beauty of the Tuscan countryside while listening to a superb performance. Return to Borgo di Petrafita for overnight accommodation. For added convenience, private roundtrip transfers from your hotel to the concert venue are available on request. (B)

Day 6: Castellina in Chianti

Today is free to spend as you chose. Enjoy the activities at the Borgo, set out with your rental car to explore the surrounding wine region or perhaps visit the historic cities of Pisa and Lucca. (B)

Day 7: Castellina in Chianti | Florence

Today marks the end of this unforgettable Tuscan vacation. Following breakfast, make your way to Florence airport or railway station to return your rental car and begin your journey back home. Arrivederci! (B)
