Day 1: Edinburgh

Arriving at Edinburgh’s Turnhouse airport make your way to your hotel located in central Edinburgh and the remainder of the day to explore on your own.  

Day 2: Edinburgh's Royal Mile

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a morning to explore on your own before an early afternoon discovery of some Secrets of the Royal Mile. The best way to explore Edinburgh is to follow your feet. Where the buses can’t take you, and the guide books don’t show you is where our city’s stories lie – the closes, wynds, courtyards and homes of Old Edinburgh. With your expert guide, visit sites that are tucked away to see the secrets and tell the tales. You’ll be hanging on your tour guide’s every word, as the true stories of our capital’s past unfold. We’ll help unlock our fascinating past – the culture, crime, politics and people of Scotland’s capital.

Day 3: Edinburgh City Tour

Discover Edinburgh's magical atmosphere as you travel through the city in a deluxe, open-top mini coach. This new city tour takes you sightseeing around Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Setting out from Waverley Bridge in central Edinburgh you’ll learn about the mighty castle and all the cobbled backstreets, Grassmarket, one of the best places to visit in Edinburgh with its array of small boutiques & Scottish pubs. You’ll learn about Edinburgh’s most famous dog, Greyfriars Bobby, and you may even be introduced to a few of the famous locals along the way. The afternoon is free to pass as you choose perhaps revisiting & spending more time at some of the sites from the morning visit.

Day 4: Edinburgh | Inverness

Today you’ll travel north from Edinburgh to the Highland city of Inverness via high-speed train. Arrive at your hotel for check-in then set out to start exploring the city on your own.

Day 5: Inverness | Isle of Skye | Inverness

Today you’ll enjoy a full one-day adventure which will take you through some of Scotland's most iconic scenery - past Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle - to reach the Isle of Skye. Here you’ll experience the very best that this magical place has to offer before returning home via the beautiful Black Isle.

Day 6: Inverness | Glasgow

Take a morning train from Inverness to Glasgow allowing you a full afternoon in this friendly city. Glasgow City Chambers is located in the very heart of the city on George Square and it is possible to enjoy a free guided tour of this masterpiece of Victorian architecture.

Day 7: Glasgow

Today take your time to explore Glasgow. You may wish to start your day at George Square, the city’s main square with its 12 statues & lion flanked memorial and surrounded by some of Glasgow’s most important buildings, the Merchant’s House and the City Chambers, then visit Glasgow’s impressive 12th-century Cathedral and perhaps the nearby St Mungo Museum of Religious & Spiritual Art. Remember museums and galleries in Glasgow are free of charge so you don't want to miss a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, the Burrell Collection, St Mungo Museum, People's Palace or the Scotland Street School Museum, among others. Alternatively, take a stroll along bustling Sauchiehall Street where you’ll find the largest range of shops in the city, or through the city's West End, a trendy area of cafés, restaurants, high-end shops, posh hotels. 

Day 8: Glasgow | Stirling | Glasgow

On today’s small-group coach tour, you’ll experience the Highlands' natural forests, lochs and mountains in Loch Lomond National Park and feel Scotland's past in the heartland of its great heroes - Rob Roy, Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. Visit the medieval stronghold of Stirling Castle and sample single malt whisky at the Glengoyne Distillery. This tour is for those who love tales of Rob Roy and Braveheart, Renaissance palaces and a healthy walk in the Loch Lomond National Park, before relaxing with a fine malt whisky. 

Day 9: Glasgow

Today marks the end of your Royal Scotland tour. At a time to suit your departing flight make your way to the airport to begin your journey home.
