Testimonials

My clients are back from the Jolly Sicily Tour, here their feedback...Our trip went very, very well. We enjoyed it very much, had a superb time. The itinerary was perfect, but the people who implemented & managed it were even better. Driver & guides were all professionals & worthy of saying thanks for a well done job. We saw & learned a lot. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for a job well done!

Day 1: London | Exeter

Depart from central London & travel through Wessex, one of England’s ancient kingdoms. You pass through this millennia-old setting on the way to the historic city of Winchester, the former capital of Anglo-Saxon England and synonymous with Alfred the Great and boasting a magnificent cathedral and Norman Great Hall. From this bustling city, you head to a quieter but equally profound place: the standing stone circles of Stonehenge. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Stonehenge site has been skilfully preserved. At the award-winning visitor centre, you can view the exhibition of hundreds of prehistoric items from the Stonehenge collection. By joining the land train shuttle, you make your way to the world-famous stone circles. At the end of this visit, the tour travels to Exeter, an important fortified settlement in Roman times and your base for two nights.

Day 2: Dartmoor

Your morning is spent exploring the magnificent wilderness of Dartmoor, the Menhir bridge at Postbridge and the historic market town of Tavistock, home to Francis Drake. Return to Exeter in the early afternoon to explore this Roman town with its underground passages, ancient walls, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and famous 12th century Norman Cathedral. Your second night is spent here. (B)

Day 3: Exeter | Cornwall

Arthurian legend mixes with genuine Celtic history in Cornwall, England’s most western county. Today, you'll explore the ancient Cornish capital of Launceston and its 12th century Norman castle. Then head west to the North Cornish coast and the Elizabethan fishing village of Boscastle where you can indulge in a cream tea, take a stroll out to the dramatic headland or learn a spell or two in the Museum of Witchcraft. Then travel on to the village of Tintagel and the ruins of its headland Castle, whose romantic clifftop setting is purportedly the birthplace of King Arthur. After lunch, head to Port Isaac where you can get your Doc Martin’s fix and fall in love with this picturesque fishing village before heading south to the bustling port town of Falmouth where you will be staying for the next two nights. (B)

Day 4: Minack Theatre & Lands End

Today, we explore the most westerly tip of England taking a brief stop to look at the island community of St.Michael’s Mount before travelling onwards to the unique setting of the Minack Theatre. Perched above a thundering ocean and the beautiful National Trust beach at Porthcurno, this open-air theatre is carved into the granite cliff and set in glorious gardens. Visit Land’s End before following a landscape dotted with the relics of the Cornish tin mining heritage, and now a filming location for the Poldark series. St.Ives is the final stop of the day with its plethora of artists’ galleries in the maze of narrow, harbour-side streets. Return to Falmouth for the night. (B)

Day 5: Cornwall | London

This morning you'll say farewell to Cornwall and travel across Bodmin Moor, a wild moorland that has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, taking a break before leaving Cornwall and continuing back through the Devon countryside with stops for photos before arriving in the famous little town of Glastonbury for lunch, on your own. Glastonbury Tor rises high above the town and has mythical connections with King Arthur and Avalon. From here you will return back eastwards to London, a city completely removed from the experiences you have enjoyed in the magical counties of Devon and Cornwall. Arrival in London around 7:30 pm and end of your tour. (B)
