Day 1: Rome
Upon arrival at Rome airport a private car transfer will take you to your hotel in Rome for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to pass as you choose exploring Rome or simply relaxing.
Day 2: Rome
This morning you will enjoy a city tour visiting some of the best-known monuments of Rome. The tour begins by crossing Piazza della Republica with Najad's Fountain, where your local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, the Colonna of Marco Aurelio, Palazzo Montecitorio designed by Bernini, the Pantheon (visit inside), Palazzo Madama (seat of the senate) and Piazza Navona. Passing alongside Castel S. Angelo your tour will take you to the Basilica of St. Peter (visit inside except when there are religious celebrations) where you can admire Michelangelo's magnificent works of art, "La Pieta". You can choose to return with the tour to your hotel (or closest drop-off point) or remain inside St. Peter's returning at your leisure. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Day 3: Rome | Naples | Pompeii | Sorrento
At 6:45am, a deluxe motorcoach will depart Rome, and via the “Sun Route” highway, you will travel through the regions of Lazio and Campania, seeing picturesque views of the Abbey of Montecassino along the way. There will be a short panoramic city tour upon arriving in Naples, where you will see the Mergellina neighborhood, Castel dell'Ovo, Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, Maschio Angioino, and the port. After lunch in Pompeii, you will visit the ruins of this famous Roman city, destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Continue on along the Sorrentine Coast to Sorrento, where you will check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner before resting up for the adventures ahead. (B.L.D)
Day 4: Sorrento
Today is yours to pass as you please in Sorrento. Spend a leisurely day exploring Sorrento, the jewel of the Sorrentine peninsula that is famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemon, and olive trees. Or you may want to hit the waters for a day excursion to the nearby island of Capri (not included). Return to your hotel in Sorrento for dinner and an overnight stay. (B.D)
Day 5: Sorrento | Amalfi
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Sorrento depart at 10 am for the beautiful coastal town of Amalfi. Check-in to your hotel then perhaps wander along to the main square in the town centre to admire St. Andrew Cathedral before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B.D)
Day 6: Amalfi
Take your time over breakfast and then enjoy a full day exploring the little alleys and hidden corners of this wonderful coastal resort of Amalfi. Take a dip into the waters of the Gulf of Salerno or some time to slowly sip on some of the locally produced Limoncello. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B.D)
Day 7: Amalfi | Rome
Do some last minute sight-seeing in Amalfi after breakfast at your hotel. Then, at around 3:00 in the afternoon, depart for Pompeii and continue on to Rome to arrive around 9:00 in the evening. Check-in to your hotel and overnight accommodation. (B)
Day 8: Rome
Enjoy breakfast and the remainder of your day until it is time for your private transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your return flight to Canada. (B)
